St Lucia Jazz
The St Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival April 30th - May 11th 2014
St Lucia Jazz festival has become one of the major events on St. Lucia’s calendar of events. During the month of May, the island moves to the beat of jazz, reggae, soul, R & B and rock and pop. Music fills the air, the beaches, the national parks, the colonial monuments and a St Lucian travel experience takes on a whole new meaning to all. This is a fun, lively and cultural St Lucian Festival seeing visitors mix and dance happily with locals for a unique experience.
This year sees, amongst many others, the Grammy award winning Maxwell, the legendary Commodores, Jamaican reggae and dancehall legend Barrington Levy and many other local and regional artists. In 1999, the St Lucia Jazz took on a new dimension with the addition of more side attractions, i.e. other jazz performances aside from main stage events. These additions have been affectionately called “The Fringe Activities” and create an island wide festive atmosphere. All of this goes toward making the St Lucia Jazz a truly St Lucian experience for visitors and locals alike.
Being in the North of St Lucia, 5 minutes away from the main stage at Pigeon Island National Park (which can even be seen across the water), Cap Maison is in one of the best places on the island to stay during the St Lucia Jazz festival. Jazz by boat can even be arranged on the hotel’s luxury motor yacht “Cap Maison 1” offering a luxury entrance and arrival into the event. Or, if you prefer, sample a cocktail at the Cliff at Cap bar while listening to the sounds drift across the water. For tickets and more information click on St. Lucia Jazz.
