We stayed in an Ocean View Villa Suite with Jacuzzi. The room was absolutely gorgeous and extremely well kept. Cap Maison provides daily maid service and nightly turn down service which was great. While the Jacuzzi room was plenty spacious and very comfortable, when we return to Cap Maison in the future I might consider getting an Ocean View Villa with a private pool as I think we would have used that a lot more than a Jacuzzi.
For our stay we opted for the Cap It All package which included breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the onsite restaurant 'The Cliff at Cap,' as well as a daily credit towards drinks. Typically hotel restaurants are not that good but I am happy to say we loved every meal at the Cliff at Cap. My wife really loved the plantain chips offered at lunch time. All of the staff are extremely friendly and attentive, but one server really stood out for us named Linus. Linus really helped to make our trip extra special and he ensured our meals were always perfect. Linus even set us up for a private dinner down on the rocks below the restaurant that we loved. It was the best meal we had during the whole trip.
One of the things that was also included with our package was a sunset cruise on board their yacht but unfortunately it was docked for service at the time of our trip, but the Cap Maison staff offered us an alternative free couples massage at the on site spa. While we had been looking forward to the sunset cruise it was a great alternative that they provided for us.
The grounds of Cap Maison are very well kept and the groundskeepers are there every day working to keep the grounds beautiful. My compliments go out to them on the great job they do, especially in the heat! Cap Maison also has two pools for use by the hotel guests, as well as a beach down in a cove next to the resort. They have a bar down at the beach as well to serve up pretty much any drink you could possibly want.
We went on two excursions while on the island that had been pre-booked through our travel planner and Cap Maison helped us to ensure everything went smoothly, which was appreciated. While we loved the tours and sight seeing, my wife and I towards the end of each excursion couldn't wait to get back to Cap Maison to relax the rest of our day.
I would highly recommend Cap Maison to anyone and will be sure to tell my friends and family all about our trip. I hope my wife and I will be able to return in the near future as well!
We stayed at Cap Maison for a week from the 16 November. It is all that everyone has said, but I would also praise the food. The chef is excellent, the presentation and taste is wonderful. Good food is hard to find in the Caribbean and Cap Maison's was superb. I'd also recommend eating at the restaurant on the beach when it is open in the evenings (when we were there it was open three days a week) this is exactly what you dream off from a Caribbean holiday.
My husband and I stayed at Cap Maison when we got married and our trip was unforgettable. I could not have asked for a more perfect location or stay.
Cap Maison is at the north of the island whereas the airport is at the south, so it is a bit of a drive (approx. 1.5 to 2 hours) to reach the property. However even this was made enjoyable by the staff of Cap Maison, who arranged for our transport from the airport and then back to the airport when we departed. Our driver was wonderful - he taught us so much about the history and culture on the island. We stopped several times along the route to experience some of the beautiful sites that St. Lucia has to offer.
As for the actual resort, Cap Maison is stunning. The buildings, rooms, grounds, gardens, fountains and pools were all beautiful and impeccably maintained. Our room was an incredible suite with a rooftop pool that offered stunning views of St. Lucia and the Caribbean. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Kristal helped to arrange all of the wedding details. She was very attentive and responsive, and was a pleasure to work with. Everything went perfectly - I never once had to worry about any of the formalities.
One tip - there are sand fleas that will bite your legs. Cap Maison puts bug repellant in each room - use it!!!
I had read a lot of reviews before going to Cap Maison and hope a lot of readers view my review because I have only great things to say! First of all it's beautiful!!! The grounds, rooms, and everything else are well maintained. All the staff was so friendly and so nice to us, and they all knew our little girl (1-1/2 years) by name and were so sweet with her! I couldn't believe how nice the staff was! Our room was amazing! We had an oceanview villa with rooftop terrace and pool which was so nice to have all the room since we were there for 10 days! The housekeeping does an excellent job cleaning everyday and the maintenance staff is right on the ball! Note: the loud chirping noise at night are not birds lol but frogs!!! You get use to them after the first night there thank goodness. Downtown is only about 10 minutes away which is convenient. The food is good, the drinks are good, the pools are great! The private little beach is nice and secluded. If you like long walks on the beach you might need a different beach but we loved the one here. For those of you having a wedding in St. Lucia, this resort is a great place for it. We had our wedding here and it was stress free for us and gorgeous. The photographer took great photos (Roger), the bouquet was beautiful, even the cake was yummy! We had a private reception dinner on our rooftop with a private chef and waiter which were both excellent! The food was the best thanks to the chef (I believe his name was Scott) but he was great and our waiter McKenny became our good friend we plan to stay in touch with. I was really impressed and happy with Cap Maison! Great scenery, great food, great service and great people!
Thanks to them for making our experience a 10!!
This is the most idyllic setting one could dream of. The villas and rooms are tucked in amongst beautifully kept gardens and there is a secret door down to a secluded beach. The food was amazing, and the staff took every care to explain everything we were eating. Nothing was too much trouble. But best of all they were fun. Real people who cared about our individual and collective enjoyment.
Very very good food, very good service made out stay in St. Lucia incredible. Cant wait to go back! They make you feel very welcome. The owner was there to greet us when we came. The BBQ party at the beach was really amazing. We were 10 (5 couples) that stayed there and had different types of room. All of them were fantastic especially the ones with the pool on the roof. Amazing place we really want to go back!
So here we are again at Cap Maison. What a place, what a food, what a service!!! Where do I start...
We went there last year and have decided to go back for another couple of week this October. This boutique hotel has become our favourite holiday destination for a number of reasons; fantastic to relax, the best food on the island and private beach. My aim on holidays is to forget about the reality. I have extremely busy life in London therefore I don't fancy staying in a massive all inclusive music playing places. I like my sleep and most importantly good food. After eating in quite few restaurants over the last 2 trips I can comfortably say that The Cliff has the best chef on the island. The main pool area is nice and quiet as most of the rooms have their own private pools. The pool service offers lovely food, drinks and service that goes extra mile for your own comfort. A basket with complimentary chilled water and chilled face towels, this is what Cap is all about - your comfort and extra mile service. There is a new beach restaurant, finally. Lovely place for lunch.
Easy access to complimentary water, towels, business centre with private pools boat and other adventure bookings makes this place a perfect destination for us year after year.
Top class hotel. Boutique but all the amenities, with old style charm to match. It's the little things that make the difference: poolside tiles with fossilised plants inset in them, gardens and flowers that are exquisite, great attention to detail. Our daughter wrote on a pad that she didn't like the mosquitos; before we had said anything the staff had put mosquito nets in the room. Service top class. And I haven't even mentioned the food, or the views, or the sunsets....
“A and T from New Jersey”
This was an amazing vacation. We will definitely return. We stayed for 4 days in a two bedroom villa with a pool. The weather was beautiful with lots of sun and a constant breeze. The Villa was beautifully furnished and at the same time was very comfortable. A great feature was the private deck with pool which was a welcomed oasis to enjoy a cold drink with friends. The service around the resort was world class and all staff were both helpful and friendly. The food and wine at the restaurant were excellent with plenty of dishes to choose from. The beach, with newly refurbished beach bar and cafe, was a favorite spot. And, of course, the Caribbean was as beautiful as ever! Oh, one last thing. Take the helicopter from the airport to the resort. It's a beautiful and exciting ride and a great way to start your vacation!!
“Relax in the sun”
If you want relaxation and enjoy good service look no further. Do eat at the beach bar and chat to the staff there. The villas with pools are great. We are looking forward to our return visit shortly.
“Amazing on the eyes, body, and soul!”
We stayed at Cap Maison on a long weekend vacation last Friday-Monday Oct 4-7th, 2013. We chose this hotel because Jade Mountain and Ladera did not have AC. These villas still give you the open air choice with nice balconies (ours had 2- one with a jacuzzi), and open doors and windows, but at least the bedroom had AC which was a must for us in that kind of heat.
The view is absolutely breathtaking. Gorgeous sunsets, the wide open ocean, and an infinity pool practicly to yourself! At the pool, the comfy chairs, readily available complimentary bottled water, and cold towels they bring you are very nice! There are many levels to the decks and pool which makes it more enjoyable. The beach is a nice alternative, also.
We went to sleep and woke up to the sound of the waves beneath us in our comfortable, beautiful canopy bed. Everything smells of cedar!
The Cliff is incredible. Amazing view and food, but be prepared for a very long meal. They are in no hurry. The coffee which is served with steamed milk is some of the best we've had anywhere.
Massages were great, and the customer service in the front lobby was very good.
The gardens are magnificent, and I loved getting to see hummingbirds this time of the year since they are not in the states in the fall. We saw quite a few!!
The only downside to this hotel is that it's an hour and a half from the airport, although that can end up being a positive if you get a good driver in a good car. You will see all sorts of neat things!! If you get a bad driver in a stick shift mini bus, you may get sick on all the curvy, bumpy roads. The ride back to the airport Monday was the perfect time for us to see the Pitons and the Souferie volcano/springs.
Even as travelers who have spent time in Puerto Rico, Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, and Paris... this was the most beautiful, relaxing vacation we've ever had.
“4th Visit for a Party! Great stay”
Well, we were tempted back to Cap Maison as they were celebrating a 5th Anniversary Party. So, using airmiles, we booked in for 5 nights in order to have a break, do the party, recover and fly back. This was also the first time we had visited St Lucia in September.
Firstly, weather. I was expecting and prepared for 5-days of overcast skies, rain, thunder etc. I could not have been more wrong. The weather was very hot and sunny most of the time.
The beach was lovely and the new beach bar a great improvement on what was there previously. I think we and the other guests were the first ones to use it once the resort reopened.
Smugglers Cove Beach is known for its snorkelling, but on previous visits the sea has been choppy and visibility nil. Not so this time, I went snorkelling around the rocks and it was wonderful. Shoals of small fish and very beautiful and calm. Definitely recommended. Go on the left hand side (facing the sea).
Food. The a la carte options were not available this time but I was happy with the Tapas choices we made. Unfortunately I got a really nasty stomach bug on the 2nd day of the holiday so could not do full justice to the food but what I had was very good.
Again, this was the only area where there are still some issues. There was confusion about orders, ham served instead of Salmon, various things being forgotten. The problems seemed to stem from the kitchen rather than the wait-staff. All quickly addressed when reported however and by a cheerful go-to staff. Coffee delicious as usual.
Villa. We were extremely fortunate to get an upgrade to villa no. 1. Although the sea view was not as unrestricted as some of the cliff-front villas, this has to be my husband's and my personal favourite so far. Plenty of shade at various times of the day for the pool (essential for me) and the same for the covered patio. The pool was very clean -slightly overlooked but not an issue. It was really relaxing to read a book in the shade on a comfortable sun lounger in the early morning and, considering the jetlag and short period of our stay, I appreciated it. The bedroom was very cool and I loved the bath and huge shower! The kitchen could have been slightly better equipped...... slight issue when I was making final changes to my costume and could not find any scissors - but the Cap Maison sewing kit came in useful! The gardens were kept beautifully with great attention to detail. Housekeeping was very good and all requests met.
The Party. What can I say? Awesome! We watched how hard the staff all worked in the preparations for this. They were amazing. I believe over 220 people attended and most made the effort and dressed up..... The food was excellent as were the very generous drinks - although my gin and tonics got so saturated by water at the subsequent Pool Party I gave up drinking them! I was impressed by the number of food stations etc meaning that the queuing was kept to a minimum. This is classy and shows attention to detail. The ambience was great, helped by natural lightening in the sky just as the party (theme SciFI) started. You could not make this stuff up!
So, another great visit. Thanks to everyone at Cap..
“Out of this world hotel!”
Our stay at Cap Maison coincided with the Scifi themed reopenening party, and it was out of this world! Our villa was spacious and luxurious, the kids especially loved the roof top plunge pool and big bath ...I loved being able to relax knowing they were safe and contained...in fact, the entire property and staff made holidaying with the kids an effortless experience. The restaurant was excellent, lots of new flavours and ideas, but also happy to rustle up the kids off menu requests. I would thoroughly recommend the wine tasting in the chilled cellar, we were informed, entertained and a tad tipsey! The hotel property, pool, beach and villa were so fabulous it was hard to venture out, but our boat trip to the Pitons, organised by Cap Maison, was superb....St.Lucia truly is a verdant and beautifully unspoiled island. The annual September reopening party at Cap Maison may just become our annual trip. It's life, but not as we know it....it's much, much better!
Just spent a wonderful long weekend at Cap Maison and it was completely perfect! We were hugely impressed from start to finish and didn't want to leave...the hotel is stunning, the staff were friendly and helpful and thoughtful touches, such as cold towels and champagne on arrival and water delivered in a personal cooler while we were sitting around the pool, made us feel very spoilt! We were lucky enough to be part of a wine tasting held in the Cap's beautiful and very well stocked wine cellar which was both an informative and entertaining evening! Our rooms were extremely comfortable, large, quiet and well equipped and the hotel grounds are stunning. The food, the views, the service and attention to detail all added up to a very luxurious and relaxing holiday and we'd thoroughly recommend a visit.
“The Perfect Honeymoon Destination”
Please forgive my love affair with the Cap Maison, or don't. Either way, I can not recommend enough that you rest your head here when visiting the gorgeous island of St. Lucia.
Cap Maison is located on the northern-most point of St. Lucia on the cliffs of Cap Estate and boasts not only incredible views of pigeon island and the Caribbean, but incredible food, service and ambiance. We used the car service the hotel suggested and we're entertained the entire 1.5 hour trip up the coast and through Castries.
Our room had a private plunge pool, incredible views and was stocked with a complimentary bottle of Cap Maison's famous Rum Punch (which is incredible) as well as a bottle of Champagne to welcome us.
Our honeymoon package included a candlelight dinner on Cap Rock (this is where you are served by the champagne zipline), breakfast made to order daily, a complimentary bottle of champagne, a sunset cruise on the hotel's charter boat, a champagne brunch and a couples massage. We took advantage of every amenity and cannot speak highly enough about the level of skill, service and attention to detail we received in each experience.
The food at The Cliff was incredible. We loved the Beach Bar (who doesn't love a Cap Maison rum punch while floating in the Caribbean?) I could go on and on...
In a nutshell. as a honeymooner you can not pick a better location to recharge after a wedding. There are 49 rooms on property- which means that you wont find the crowds that some of the other island resorts have.
My husband and I ended our honeymoon in St. Lucia at Cap Maison and it was pure bliss. We spent half the holiday in the southern town of Soufriere, going zip lining and snorkeling and hiking, so our last few days at Cap Maison were purely about relaxation. Staff were incredibly friendly, food at the restaurant was delicious, and our massive room had its own private roof terrace with a hot tub - ideal for sunset viewing. We spent all of our time in the room and at the pool and were perfectly content. We'd love to come back for a future anniversary!
“Everything a boutique hotel should be”
Luxurious yet friendly. This was my third stay at Cap Maison and the magnetism of the place keeps attracting me whether I'm in St Lucia on holiday or business. I think it's the laid back unpretentious and friendly attitude of virtually every member of staff up to the General Manager who is there to help with whatever trivial request you may have. You just feel welcome!
We absolutely loved our stay at Cap Maison, hard to put in to words just how beautiful the place is and how friendly & helpful everyone was. The apartment was amazing with everything you needed for a family holiday (and more!) and was very tastefully done. All the rooms were full of character and had that feel of understated luxury which was in keeping with everything about the hotel. You truly felt you could relax and treat it like a home from home but with the added bonus of being in paradise! The restaurant is set on the cliff top (hence the name!) giving you the most amazing views out to the ocean and the food and service is excellent...all the time. The pool was great, child friendly which is a big plus. As you walked around everywhere was beautifully kept and the way the place has been designed means all the apartments and rooms have sufficient privacy to feel no one is on show. The beach was fab, again great setting and completely unspoilt. There is so much more I can say that is all so gushing about a truly charming and beautiful place. Would recommend it anyone and everyone, impossible not to fall in love with it! Cant wait to go back..!!!
“Best Night's Sleep In Living History”
I found Cap Maison to be a completely romantic hide-away, cossetted in 5 star luxury and with service to match.....and I am still kicking myself for not having my wife join me whilst I was there on a recent business trip to St Lucia. The hotel oozes charm and easygoing sophistication, my suite had just about everything I could have imagined - almost in anticipation of what I was going to need or want for next! Fully fitted kitchen and living room, private swimming pool, garden and gazebo outside, Spacious romantic bathrooms with "his and hers" items and a simply glorious bath were admittedly a little "under-optimised" by myself as a single guest, as was the king-sized bed in the master bedroom - but oh my god, what an amazingly comfortable bed that was! - the mattress, pillows and "god knows how many thousand thread" cotton sheets resulted in the most glorious and tranquil night's sleep I have ever had. Summary? - This hotel is absolute heaven for any romantic couple and is definitely top on my list when I make a return visit to St Lucia - And next time I am coming with my wife!! Totally recommended.
We LOVED our stay at Cap Maison. I never write reviews but because this place was so romantic and wonderful, I have to tell people about this place.
The service was exceptional in the restaurant. The food was exceptional in the restaurant. The food was the BEST we have ever had anywhere!! We found ourselves getting so excited about the meals and explaining to the staff that we didn't normally eat dessert at every meal. :)
Vanessa, Maggie, Allison and "Goofy" (his nickname) were exceptional!! All the staff at the restaurant and beach bar were terrific! We met Clive at the beach after he prepared our tuna and he was very kind and a great chef as well.
I would highly recommend this place to all couples or families with older children (like high school or college). It is quiet, scenic and wonderful. We will definitely be back!
“Heaven exists in St Lucia”
Visited this hotel in June 2012 (apologies for the late review) and it was fantastic.
Unfortunately I was only at Cap Maison for one night however I had a fantastic stay.
The staff here are fantastic, the gardens and facilities well maintained and the food is excellent.
I had a junior suite on the ground floor with access to the gardens and a small pool just outside the door (the main pool is just down the path). Room was extremely spacious, the shower was brilliant and all the plugs in the room take british appliances!
Flip flops and free bottle of rum punch are a nice touch!
Beach area is fairly small however the resort is not massive and would not become over crowded.
All in all this resort is brilliant and anyone staying here would not be disappointed - I was just sad I couldn't stay for longer!
