Cliff at Cap Special Dining Event Friday 31st January 2014
The Cliff restaurant at Cap Maison is pleased to announce the first in a series of culinary events scheduled for 2014.
In addition to the popular " Pop up" series, we've also planned a number of Food and Wine events throughout the year. The first of these will be on Friday 31st January, when we shall stage our "Bordeaux Dinner"
We welcome our special guest Douglas Morton, an experienced and celebrated wine connoisseur.
After a spell with Unilever and Guinness Overseas Ltd ( as it then was), Douglas entered the domestic wine and spirit market in 1974, when he joined Hedges and Butler where he was responsible, over the next 12 years, for marketing many international brands including Bacardi rum, Dewars whisky, Remy Martin cognac, and many wine brands including Mouton Cadet.
!n 1986 he was appointed Managing Director of Baron Philippe de Rothschild UK Ltd, and oversaw the extension of the Rothschild portfolio from Bordeaux and also helped to successfully launch the range of Languedoc and Chilean wines.
In 2002, he was transferred to the United States as President of Baron Philippe de Rothschild (California) Inc. and Co-Ceo of Opus One, returning to the UK in 2004..
His retirement was short-lived as the C.I.V.B. (Bordeaux Wine Bureau) invited him to become their U.K. marketing consultant, a post he continues to hold while undertaking other short-term projects.
In 2011 he was appointed Chevalier de Merite Agricole for services to French wines.
(Douglas is also the Bordeaux wine consultant to La Cantina Wines)

Dine and Don't Leave
course dinner for two* at the Cliff and then stay in one of our rooms or suites overnight. Add a choice of breakfast in bed or breakfast in the
restaurant and you have the whole package.
Dine and Stay is available on selected dates throughout the year and if you are on the mailing list you will always be advised when those dates are.
The package is designed for two and the total price is USD$350 plus VAT and service charge.
